On the afternoon of April 27th, 2023, the Department of Physics held a political study activity for all faculty and staff in classroom X30405. The main content of this activity includes: 1. Learning and conveying the spirit of the mobilization and deployment meeting on "Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era" theme education work from the school and the college; 2. Learning about confidentiality knowledge; 3. Sharing the ideological and political construction of university physics courses. The meeting was chaired by Vice Secretary Zhu Hao.
In the first content of the meeting, Xie Dong, the secretary of the Department of Physics Party Branch, led all party members to study the spirit of the mobilization and deployment meeting on "Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era" theme education work from the school and the college. According to the school's "Notice on the Implementation of Theme Education Work on Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era by Secondary Party Organizations", combined with the actual situation of the college, multiple theme education activities will be held from April to August. The activity content includes: solidifying theoretical learning, conducting innovative theme party activities, conducting investigations and research, conducting party character training, party branch secretary giving party lectures, and holding special organizational life meetings.
In the second content of the meeting, confidentiality knowledge was learned. After watching the video, the faculty and staff of the department had a lively discussion. Everyone expressed that through this study, they have enhanced their awareness and knowledge of confidentiality, and further understood the importance of confidentiality work. As frontline educators, they must continue to strengthen the learning and promotion of confidentiality knowledge and contribute to building a campus defense line to safeguard national secrets.
In the third content of the meeting, Ms. Wu Yunmei made a wonderful introduction on how to introduce ideological and political education in thin film interference. Ms. Wu first introduced various thin film interference phenomena in life to attract students' attention and increase their interest in thin film interference. Then, Ms. Wu explained the principle of thin film interference and posed the question: "How big is the world's largest soap bubble?" She guided students to experience the innovative spirit in science by explaining the process of Samsam's continuous innovation and practice in making the world's largest soap bubble. Finally, Ms. Wu introduced various applications of thin film interference in life to teachers, such as "light pollution caused by the surface coating of buildings", etc., which expanded the teachers' course ideological and political construction ideas. The participating teachers actively participated in the discussion, put forward various suggestions and opinions, and expanded to other teaching and ideological and political fields for mutual exploration and learning.
