At 2 pm on June 15, 2023, the graduate student party branch of the School of Physical Science and Technology of Southwest Jiaotong University and the party branch of the Applied Physics Department held a theme party day activity of "Learning General Secretary's Important Speech and Writing a New Chapter of Youth without Regrets" at J4421. All members of the graduate student party branch and the party branch of the Applied Physics Department attended the event. Liu Yu, the Party Secretary of the school, Vice President (in charge of work) Jia Huanyu, and party committee member Liu Qijun attended the event. The event was hosted by Yang Haojian, the secretary of the graduate student party branch.
Firstly, Yang Haojian led all party members to review the oath of joining the Party. Everyone raised their right fists and solemnly swore. The oath of joining the Party is a serious test for every Party member. At this moment, everyone once again expressed their firm beliefs and infinite loyalty to the Party, injecting solid strength and confidence into future struggles.
Then, Ren Yalei of the fifth learning group of the graduate student party branch led all party members to conduct an in-depth study on "The Development of the Communist Party of China and Chinese Higher Education." Comrade Ren Yalei comprehensively interpreted the Party's educational policies and the development process of higher education, and explained the strategic significance of the Party's educational ideas and higher education reforms in a simple and understandable way. At the same time, he also analyzed the current problems and challenges in higher education with specific cases, guiding everyone to further understand the Party's educational ideas and the current situation and development trend of higher education.
Next, all participating party members of the graduate student party branch and the party branch of the Applied Physics Department watched the "Casting Soul, Enhancing Intelligence, Educating New People, Promoting Positive Energy, and Writing a New Chapter" 2023 university party organization demonstration micro-party lesson sponsored by the ideological and political department of the Ministry of Education. The micro-party lesson revolved around the theme of teaching "big ideological and political courses," cultivating new people who can undertake the task of national rejuvenation, solidly promoting theme education, and integrating the Party's innovative theories into China's independent knowledge system. It also focused on learning and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important reply letter, and creating a new model of "steel and iron ideological and political education" for the new era.
Then, Yang Haojian explained the reply letter from General Secretary Xi Jinping to the volunteer service team of Communist Manifesto Exhibition Hall of Fudan University for all party members. He said, "General Secretary Xi Jinping's mention of 'firming ideals and beliefs in learning and practice, and practicing the original mission in striving for excellence' is the most sincere exhortation to us contemporary youth. Afterwards, Liu Qijun, the secretary of the party branch of the Applied Physics Department, shared his thoughts on "From China's Hundred Years of Physics Education to the Evaluation and ESI Ranking of Physics Discipline - Ideas and Experience of the Development of Physics in Domestic Universities." Liu Qijun started from multiple perspectives, analyzed in-depth the process and achievements of China's hundred years of physics education, and made a deep analysis of the current situation of physics discipline evaluation and ESI ranking. At the same time, he also introduced the ideas and experience of the development of physics in domestic universities, elaborated on the key points and effective methods in the construction of physics disciplines, and made everyone more clearly understand the importance of the construction of physics disciplines in China and the current situation of the school's physics discipline construction. Liu Qijun's deep thinking and practical experience inspired the enthusiasm and confidence of the student party members to work harder and made everyone more determined to devote themselves to the construction of the school's physics discipline.
Finally, Liu Yu, the Party Secretary of the school, summarized the event. He affirmed the event's mode of operation and highly praised the spiritual state and work results of the participating party members. He systematically sorted out and analyzed various topics discussed during the five collective study sessions of the Central Political Bureau, deeply analyzed the importance and practical significance of each topic, and summarized the current work of the school.
