In order to protect the daily life rights and interests of our graduate students, improve their living standards and quality and provide a stable logistical support for them, the Comprehensive Affairs Department of the Graduate Student Union of the School of Physics and Technology has actively planned related rights and interests activities through collecting issues, conducting rights training, visiting the dormitory area to investigate the situation and collecting information on school logistics services.
First of all, in order to gain a deeper understanding of the problems and troubles in the daily life of graduate students in our school, the Comprehensive Affairs Department first set up rights committees in each class of the first year students to open up information feedback channels. At 11 am on October 21, 2021, an equity conference was organized in Yifu Building 4323, Jiuli Campus. All freshmen were invited to participate in this event. The seminar was host by Luo Mengyi, a member of the presidium of the Graduate Student Association, who gave a lecture to introduce the scope of the rights and interests work to everyone and the related responsibilities of the rights and interests committee in order to protect the rights and interests of the freshmen. At the meeting, questionnaires were used to record and collect students' general needs and practical difficulties in academic development, physical and mental health, social integration, rights protection, etc. The collect statistics were alassified and analyzed to help solve students’ problems.
At 8 pm on October 25th, in order to ensure the effective progress of rights protection and establish a more efficient rights feedback system, the Graduate Student Association of the School of Physics organized relevant work training in the Yifu Building 4419 of the Jiuli Campus and introduced to the rights and interests committee members of each class the official website of relevant departments and offices of the school and their contact information and the linkage of rights and interests work. The rights and interests proposal work training was also held.
Finally, after understanding the needs and difficulties of the students, the association collected and reported them in time through the channels of the college and the school. At the same time, they compiled the school's logistics service, infrastructure and other related information into a brochure in order to provide answers to students’ problems effectively. Meanwhile, the association contacted the logistic staff about the damage to the dormitory equipment and the hot water supply time, which successfully improved the living conditions in the dormitory.
Through a series of rights and interest activities, the problems encountered by the students in their daily lives have been solved, making them fully understand the importance of rights protection. The rights and interests of the students have been better protected.
