On December 26, 2022, the "Scholars Forum: Elite Gathering from All Over the World, Fostering a Stronger Presence in the Universe" sub-forum on physics frontier and development was successfully held in a combination of online and offline formats at Southwest Jiaotong University. The main offline venue of the forum was located in the second-floor conference room of the Fusion Science Research Institute in Building F of the Industrial Center at the Jiulidi Campus. More than 60 scholars and representatives from colleges and universities at home and abroad participated in the online and offline meetings. The leaders of the college, including Liu Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee, Jia Huanyu, Deputy Dean (responsible for work), and Li Jinlong, Deputy Dean, attended the forum both online and offline. The forum was hosted by Professor Xu Yuhong, Director of the Professor Committee of the School of Physical Science and Technology.
In his welcome speech, Liu Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, briefly introduced the school's profile and the current situation of the college in terms of teaching and development. She stated that the annual "Forum on Physics Frontier and Development" of the college is not only an academic exchange platform for cutting-edge technology in the field of physics, but also a selection platform for exchanges among the college and young scholars at home and abroad, hoping that participating scholars can deepen mutual understanding and promote win-win cooperation through the forum.
During the reporting section, Dr. Chen Runfeng, Professor and Deputy Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, gave a report entitled "High-performance Organic Optoelectronic Materials and Multi-functional Device Applications." Dr. Rajwali Khan, Assistant Professor and Associate Research Dean of the Physics Department at Rakimalewat University in Pakistan, gave a report entitled "Threshold Resistive Switching in Pure and Nickle-Doped Zinc Oxide Based Memristor for Artificial Sensory Applications." Dr. Liu Wenlin, Postdoctoral Researcher at Peking University, gave a report entitled "Output Performance Optimization and Application of Frictional Nanogenerator." Dr. Song Tingfeng from the Autonomous University of Barcelona gave a report entitled "The Effects of Doping and Interface Properties on the Exfoliated Hafnium-based Thin Film Ferroelectric Properties." Dr. Peng Xuefeng from the University of Electronic Science and Technology presented a report entitled "High-efficiency Green and Sky-blue Perovskite Light Emitting Diodes".
After each scholar's report, teachers and students actively asked questions and engaged in lively and in-depth exchanges and discussions with the guest speakers on the issues that they were most interested in.
After the reporting section of the forum, Li Jinlong, Deputy Dean of the college, introduced the school's talent policies and the college's talent demand in detail, warmly welcoming young scholars from home and abroad to join the college and develop together. Participating scholars further raised questions and sought advice on relevant policies.
