On the morning of November 7, Deputy Director Jiang Han of the Department of Strategy and Discipline of Southwest Jiaotong University went to the School of Physical Science and Technology to investigate the subject development plan. The research meeting was held in the X5527 conference room. Li Xiangqiang, Deputy Dean of the School of Physical Science and Technology, Jia Huanyu, Director of the Professor Committee, and the heads of various disciplines and discipline offices of the college attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Deputy Dean Li Xiangqiang first welcomed the Deputy Director Jiang and his entourage to the school. He also expressed his gratitude for the concern of the Strategic Discipline on the development of physics, and introduced the current development of the physics school. Subsequently, Deputy Director Jiang gave feedback on the assessment of the current round of disciplines. In particular, the rankings of the three secondary indicators, including the faculty, support platform and social services, were highly recognized due to the overall level of the discipline. At the same time, he also pointed out that there is a lot of room for improvement in the quality of personnel training, scientific research achievements, and scientific research projects, and put forward pertinent guidance and ardent expectations in many aspects such as the transformation of scientific research achievements, the utilization of alumni resources, the declaration of academic awards, and the promotion of academic reputation.
Professor Jia Huanyu, the Director of the Professor Committee, combined with the assessment of the current physics subject, reported on the current situation and measures of physics construction in our college. The report focused on the specific measures for the development of the discipline, including the introduction of talents, the construction of youth innovation teams, the allocation of postgraduate enrollment indicators oriented by results, the promotion of postgraduate academic paper standards and the construction of simulation platforms, giving a detailed introduction to the subject evaluation concerns .
The meeting made it clear that the School of Physical Science and Technology will promote the overall development of the discipline through discipline focus with the discipline development plan of “overall ascent and key breakthrough”.
